Man sentenced to 25 years in online child-pornography case
U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips sentenced Joshua Boras, 34, of Lapeer, Mich., on Monday after he pleaded guilty to participating in a child-exploitation enterprise and producing child pornography, the U.S. Justice Department said in a statement.
Boras was affiliated with the "Lost Boy" online forum for men interested in trading child porn, officials said. New members were required to post child porn to join the organization and had to continue their posts in order to remain in good standing with the group, they said.
Federal authorities and international law enforcement agencies shut down the site three years ago.
The group had 35 members in the United States, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand and Britain, 15 of whom have pleaded guilty or have been convicted at trial, the Justice Department said.
