Do you have some free time?

Volunteers are the back bone of any charitable organisation and invaluable for ECPAT Child ALERT in helping with the quality and success of our work in preventing the sexual exploitation of children.

Our volunteers contribute in myriad ways with a variety of skills and at different regularities and times of year to suit. We need help with specific high-level campaigns through to the simple administrative tasks that form the cogs of the ECPAT wheel; the work can be as routine or as challenging as you would like it to be, it is all important to us. Work may be completed in Auckland, where we are based, or throughout New Zealand; from your home or in our office.

It can be immensely rewarding to see how your efforts contribute directly to the outcome of community issues you feel passionate about. Additional to the personal rewards, ECPAT Child ALERT can provide a Certificate of Appreciation to thank you for your involvement, and a character reference or personal referee after a certain time. In a competitive environment, volunteer work forms an integral part of any curriculum vitae.

If you have skills you, or your family, would like to contribute to help prevent the sexual exploitation of children, please contact us now, or fill in the form below.

We trust you will enjoy your volunteer experience with ECPAT Child ALERT.

Volunteer profile: Cynthia Crosse

Cynthia Crosse has volunteered at the ECPAT Child ALERT Auckland office since March 2010. Cynthia has a background in media, marketing and in running her own business. However, at the age of 44, her 2010 New Year resolutions saw her wanting to look beyond her immediate environment to wanting to make a real difference in the world. As it happened, Cynthia's skills were exactly what ECPAT Child ALERT needed at that time; her website enquiry was responded to with a hearty welcome.

“Whatever we do in life,” says Cynthia, “we do at the expense of something else. As you get older, the choices you make carry greater weight and it was important for me to look forward to the next 10 years and know that I was committing my time and talents to something that really mattered.”

“ECPAT has a solid international framework, but it is still a young organisation in New Zealand and it's subject matter is grim. ECPAT needs truly wonderful and loving people to get behind it and yell from the rafters that it is not okay to sexually exploit our children. It is a problem in New Zealand, but is it one that we can change,” she says.
