ECPAT is a global network of organisations and individuals working together for the elimination of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.

ECPAT NZ is committed to ensuring that children everywhere are safe from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation and the demand for sex with children stops.

ECPAT NZ works closely with NZ politicians, governments, law enforcement agencies, the Internet and tourism industries, non-government organisations and individuals.

Two principal documents underpin the work of ECPAT NZ:

1. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child that the New Zealand Government ratified in 1993 Article 34 and 35.

2. The Stockholm Declaration and Agenda for Action against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in 1996.
