About This Training Event

Join ECPAT NZ for a 2-hour training aimed at frontline workers who interact with children and young people who may be victims or survivors of sexual exploitation. We’ll cover:

  • what sexual exploitation of children looks like in Aotearoa
  • types of exploitation such as survival sex, grooming, online exploitation, and trafficking
  • risk factors and what to look for
  • barriers to disclosure and identification
  • how sexual exploitation affects tamariki and rangatahi
  • trauma informed practice
  • the current legislative framework.

You will leave with an increased understanding of the realities and impacts of child sexual exploitation in Aotearoa, plus the confidence to recognise and respond safely to this issue.

This is a group training that Barnardos Nelson is hosting – please note that we require all attendees to register for reporting purposes.
