This free event is open to all, creating a virtual space to have your say! Join us to learn about what’s included in the current draft of NZ Curriculum’s relationships and sexuality education (RSE) framework, how ECPAT NZ is responding to the public consultation, and share your insights by making a personal submission.
We will be sharing ECPAT NZ’s draft submission on the RSE framework and explain our feedback, drawing on learnings from recent research as well as our facilitators’ expertise. After making some suggestions for what we think is important to mention in your submission, there’ll be a Q&A session and then time to dive in and write our submissions together.
The RSE framework sets out the proposed teaching to be covered in RSE each year. The focus is on ensuring RSE content is age-appropriate, evidence-informed, internationally comparable, and clear about what to teach and when from Years 0 to 13. The consultation period is until 9 May 2025.
We’re asking for registration so that we can send through submission-writing resources and know how many people to expect, but please feel free to sign up on the day; registrations will remain open and we’ll add you to the Teams meeting.
