About This Training Event

Join us for a training webinar aimed at helping anyone working with children and young people who may be victims or survivors of sexual exploitation to recognise and respond to this issue. We’ll cover:

  • what commercial sexual exploitation of children looks like in Aotearoa
  • types of exploitation such as survival sex, grooming, online exploitation, and trafficking
  • risk factors and what to look for
  • barriers to disclosure and identification
  • how sexual exploitation affects tamariki and rangatahi
  • trauma informed practice
  • the current legislative framework.

This online professional development option is ideal for individuals who may not be able to receive our specialised training through an organisation/group but would still like to upskill themselves and engage in the learnings that ECPAT has to offer.

A Teams meeting link will be sent to you on the day of the event.

By attending this webinar, you will gain an understanding of the ways that sexual exploitation impacts children in Aotearoa, and be able to recognise and respond appropriately to instances of child sexual exploitation online and in person.
