Auckland film-maker Rajneel Singh jailed for child sexual abuse material, loses suppression, industry in shock

In early June, the name suppression for Auckland filmmaker Rajneel Singh was lifted, following his sentencing to three years and three months in prison for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) that predominantly featured girls aged between six months and 12 years of age.

Singh was convicted after police discovered 554 illicit files on his devices following a March 2023 raid on his home. He had sent images to an undercover police detective posing online.
