Former NZ Deputy Police Commissioner Jevon McSkimming was sentenced to nine months’ home detention at the Wellington District Court on Wednesday 17th December 2025.
In December, he was suspended on full pay following a November guilty plead to three representative charges of possessing objectionable publications, namely child sexual exploitation and bestiality material knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the publication is objectionable.
ECPAT NZ National Director, Eleanor Parkes, spoke to Wallace Chapman, Ed Amon and Jo McCarroll on RNZ’s The Panel about McSkimming’s sentencing, the legality of his actions, and what we can do to prevent the sexual exploitation of our tamariki here in Aotearoa.
