NZ Government has made some long-overdue amendments to the Crimes Act 1961 – announced by Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith on Wednesday 13 August, they focused on strengthening the definition of child trafficking to enable prosecution.

ECPAT welcomes the changes, but, in full agreement with other sector experts and advocates, knows that more needs to be done to bring Aotearoa in alignment with international law and truly safeguard our tamariki from sexual exploitation and trafficking.
