About This Training Event

We provide in-house training to governmental and non-governmental organisations, and frontline professionals on identifying and responding to the sexual exploitation of children in Aotearoa. We have years of experience in delivering workshops that are sector-relevant and facilitated by expert staff who are informed by research done within the Aotearoa context.

Thanks to local COGS funding, we’re able to offer this training at a significantly reduced rate to ensure it is accessible for local NGOs and community workers. In addition to a kanohi-ki-te-kanohi workshop, you will also get access to a digital learning course that provides a thorough introduction to the issue.

Our training generally covers:

  • what sexual exploitation of children looks like in Aotearoa
  • types of in-person and online exploitation such as survival sex, grooming, child sexual abuse material, and trafficking
  • risk factors and what to look for
  • barriers to disclosure and identification
  • how sexual exploitation affects tamariki and rangatahi
  • trauma informed practice
  • the current legislative framework.

We can tailor our training to the needs of specific sectors such health workers, police, educators etc. and also welcome running cross-sector training that enables in-person connections and common understandings between attendees, so please get in touch with your group details below and we’ll get back to you!
