About This Training Event
Join ECPAT NZ for a training aimed at frontline workers who interact with taiohi as part of of their paid or voluntary mahi. If you are a caregiver or someone else that has taiohi in your lives, you are also welcome to join us.
This training is hosted by Starfish Services; Starfish kaimahi, please make sure you don’t register through this form!
We’ll cover:
- what sexual exploitation of children looks like in Aotearoa
- key concepts and definitions
- risk factors and what to look for
- barriers to disclosure and identification
- how sexual exploitation affects tamariki and rangatahi
- trauma informed practice
- the current legislative framework.
You will leave with an increased understanding of the realities and impacts of child sexual exploitation in Aotearoa, plus the confidence to recognise and respond safely to this issue.
As part of this training, you receive free access to our online self-led foundational course on in-person sexual exploitation, which takes up to an hour to complete. Please follow the link in your registration confirmation email to complete this course before the live workshop.
