YMCA – Understanding Harm from Online Sexual Exploitation of Taiohi

About This Training Event

Join ECPAT NZ for the second of three Safeguarding Week trainings aimed at frontline workers who interact with vulnerable taiohi. We’ll cover:

• what digitally-facilitated sexual exploitation of children looks like in Aotearoa
• key concepts and definitions
• risk factors and what to look for
• barriers to disclosure and identification
• how sexual exploitation affects tamariki and rangatahi
• trauma informed practice and what you can do to support taiohi
• the current legislative framework.

You will leave with an increased understanding of the realities and impacts of child sexual exploitation in Aotearoa, plus the confidence to recognise and respond safely to this issue.

This is a group training hosted by YMCA. We require all attendees to register for reporting purposes.
